Planning the journey

Getting to the yacht, what the islands require, and what to bring.

01 — Getting Here

Arriving in the islands

By air, direct to the British Virgin Islands

Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (EIS) on Beef Island, Tortola, is ten minutes from Trellis Bay and about forty from Road Town. Served by American Airlines, InterCaribbean Airways, Cape Air and Tradewind Aviation, generally connecting through San Juan (SJU), St Thomas (STT) or Antigua.

Via St Thomas, USVI

Many guests fly into Cyril E. King International (STT), which takes far more direct traffic from the US mainland, then cross to Tortola. Three ferry operators run the route daily — Native Son, Smiths Ferry and Road Town Fast Ferry — and the crossing takes 45 to 60 minutes. A departure tax of roughly $20 per person applies to ferry services.

By private water taxi

For arrivals that don't line up with a ferry schedule, private water taxis run on demand from St Thomas. This is the smoothest option with luggage and children, and we will arrange it.

By private aviation

EIS handles private jets. Tell us and we will coordinate the FBO, ground handling and transfer to the yacht.

Transfers

Whatever route you take, give us your flight details on the preference sheet and your transfer will be arranged and waiting.
